Two persons dead in another car crash

Two persons – Anita Shaw Aggrey, 25, and Andy Lawson – died on the spot after two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision at Sege in the Greater Accra Region.

Several others who sustained various degrees of injuries are responding to treatment at the Sege Polyclinic.A Mercedes Sprinter bus with registration number GE 4959-11 with  23 passengers heading to  Aflao from Accra and a Kia Rio Saloon car with registration number GB 2845-12 carrying three persons, which was on its way to Accra from Akatsi collided head-on at Sege leaving two dead, Acting Public Relations Officer of the Tema Regional Police Command, Chief Inspector Stella Dede Dzakpasu revealed.

The incident which took place last Saturday adds to list of road accidents that have claimed lives in the past several weeks.

According to Chief Inspector Dzakpasu of the Tema Police Command, the driver of the sprinter bus lost control of his vehicle after his vehicle burst a tyre. The driver then veered off his lane and collided with the saloon car. He noted that investigations are continuing.

The country has been hit with fatal accidents from places such Somanya, Asutuare Junction and Offinso.

Road accidents continue to claim many lives even as the Government continues to make token gestures at solving it.
