Two Rescued After Early Morning Trailer Crash at Konongo-Odumase

Two individuals were successfully rescued by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) after being trapped in a collision involving two trailers at Konongo-Odumase in the Asante Akim Central Municipality.
The incident occurred at dawn on Saturday, July 5, 2025, along the busy Three Lane stretch of the highway.
The crash involved a Nigeria-bound Man Diesel trailer with registration number JBD 704ZY and another trailer registered GS 7884-18.
Firefighters from the Konongo-Odumase Fire Station, led by LFM Siale, responded promptly to an emergency call and arrived at the scene to find two individuals trapped inside the severely damaged cabin of one of the trailers.
Using advanced vehicle extrication techniques—including door removal, pedal cutting, and dashboard rolling—the rescue team was able to safely free the trapped victims.
Both injured individuals were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The trailer with registration number GS 7884-18 sustained severe frontal damage, while the Nigeria-bound truck suffered partial rear-end damage.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the relevant authorities.
The GNFS has commended its rescue team for their swift and professional response and urged road users to exercise caution, particularly during early morning hours when visibility may be reduced.
