Transfer: Napoli offer Man United Osimhen discount in swap for Garnacho

Former Serie A champions Napoli are ready to offer Manchester United a discount on Victor Osimhen’s €75m release clause if they lower their asking price for Alejandro Garnacho.

Italian newspaper Il Mattino reports that Napoli wants to leverage Manchester United’s interest in Osimhen to land the signature of the Argentine.

Reports indicate that Garnacho has informed Manchester United that he is interested in a move to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium this month.

The Red Devils are demanding €80m, while Napoli’s offer stands at €50m, with a maximum bid of €60m.

Osimhen, who has been in impressive form on his loan spell at Galatasaray, initially rejected a move to Old Trafford earlier this month in a swap deal involving out-of-favor forward Marcus Rashford.

The 26-year-old’s rejection reportedly displeased Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis, who was quoted by La Repubblica as saying, “Then let him stay where he is. Tell Galatasaray to take Osimhen.”
