Theft Case and Betrayal: Emelia Brobbey’s 2013 UK ordeal ‘haunts’ her as victim’s camp strikes

Issues from Emelia Brobbey’s unfortunate 2013 ordeal in the UK have resurfaced, and after 11 years, some aggrieved individuals have claimed that the actress treated ‘her victim’ unfairly.

The actress’s theft case in the UK reportedly led to the wrongful arrest and deportation of her innocent friend.

The situation began when Emelia’s partner flew her to the United Kingdom to give birth, and she stayed with her friend, actress Akua Agyeiwaa, throughout the trip.

Things took a turn one unfortunate day when Emelia went out shopping for baby items.

On that day, she allegedly stole a bracelet and hid it in a baby trolley she had purchased.

The store’s alarm went off, and she was apprehended at the counter after failing to pay for the item.

Upon her arrest, Emelia provided the police with her friend’s address. During a subsequent search of the house, the police discovered that Akua Agyeiwaa did not have the proper documentation to live in the UK.

As a result, she was arrested, jailed, and eventually deported back to Ghana.

Fast forward to 2024, family members and friends of Akua, still hurt by the situation, have taken to social media to voice their grievances.

They have expressed feelings of betrayal from Emelia, highlighting how she abandoned her friend during her arrest and the mistreatment she faced.

They recalled that Emelia’s “baby daddy” allegedly provided £3,500 as compensation to Akua, but the actress pocketed the money and used it to purchase a camera for her movie project.

Also, they have bitterly recalled how Emelia ignored Akua during her time in the UK until she was deported.

What triggered Akua Agyeiwaa’s family to speak out?

Akua’s family was triggered to speak out recently after claims from Emelia’s camp that she had compensated Akua with an apartment and money.

Akua’s brother dismissed these claims, particularly regarding the apartment, stating that Emelia doesn’t even know where his sister resides in Ghana.

In response to a previous video where Emelia stated that the item fell into the trolley, during an interview with JoyNews at the Kotoka Airport, Akua’s brother asserted that this was a lie.

Akua’s brother, a security personnel in the UK, also claimed to have recordings of Emelia confessing to stealing the bracelet, stating she didn’t know what had come over her.

“I will release the audio where she begged the family and the police and admitted that she stole. When questioned, she said she didn’t know what came over her.

“Does she know where Akua lives in Ghana? She didn’t give even one penny. I respect women a lot, but she shouldn’t make me reveal her true colours. She should warn those speaking for her; otherwise, I will release the recordings,” he stated on social media.

Emelia Brobbey’s response

In light of the recent events, Emelia Brobbey has released a diss track titled “Nsem Keka,” aimed at her detractors.

The song reflects her determination to stand up against anyone who challenges her henceforth.

In a separate social media post, Emelia wrote, “Let the one free of all wrongs be the first to cast a stone.”
