347 NDC members defect to NPP at Gunaayili

The opposition NDC in the Karaga constituency continues to lose its members to the ruling NPP with a little over a year to elections 2020.

The defectors claim the recent increase in development projects in the area since the NPP assumed power is their reason for defecting.

They announced their defection on Thursday when Deputy Energy Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam who is also the parliamentary candidate of the NPP in that constituency visited the area to commission a rural electrification project for 7 communities.

The beneficiary communities include Gogu, Kunang, Kpobo, Gunayili, Namburugu, Shebo and Vogu all in the Karaga Constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Tinkpin Baba Abraham and Sankpe Naa said they have been deceived for so long by their former party the NDC.

”We are leaving the NDC because they celebrate lies and are unable to fulfill their promises to us. Since the NPP came we have seen so much development in our area and we will work to ensure that the NPP and Dr. Anta win this constituency”, they stressed.

The Deputy Energy minister on his part praised the courage of the defectors and urged them to spread the good news of development the NPP has brought top the area.

Dr. Amin Adam since winning the primaries to lead the NPP in that constituency has been touring the area to thank the delegates for voting for him and also commissioning projects in the area.

He is set to cause a major upset in that constituency which has been in the hands of the NDC since it was created.
