Kennedy Agyapong is ill-informed – Anas’ Lawyer

Kissi Agyabeng, the lawyer for investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, says the actions taken by the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong against his client shows that he’s ill-informed.

According to him, claims by Mr. Kennedy Agyapong that Anas connived with a state prosecutor to throw out a gold scam case is untrue and further exposes the Member of Parliament’s ignorance of the law and the real issues.

Responding to Mr. Kennedy Agyapong”s latest petition to the disciplinary committee of the General Legal Council in which he accuses Anas of “professional misconduct”, Kissi Agyebeng said he [Kennedy Agyapong] does not understand what he’s doing and he is being led astray by his representatives.” “I admire the zeal of the parliamentarian, but on this score, he’s ill-advised and what he’s doing is misplaced. Either he does not understand what he is doing, or he is ill-advised. He doesn’t’ even understand how the court works and the processes.”

“With all due respect, he should go and get copies of the entire court dockets. It’s available at the registry of the court. He should get a lawyer of repute to read everything to him and explain how that case panned out” he stated.

Speaking on Eyewitness News he further accused Mr. Agyapong of peddling falsehood in the video he released titled “Who watches the Watchman’’ accusing Anas of corruption and extortion.

According to him, the accusations against his client are misplaced, adding that Mr. Agyapong should channel his grievances to the judge who sat on that case.
