Whatever you do, if there is no money in our pockets, you’ve failed – Odike challenges Akufo-Addo

“The immediate needs of Ghanaians is to fix the economy. Ghanaians want say you must work and ensure there is money in the pockets of Ghanaians because Money answers everything”, these were the exact quotes of businessman and politician Akwasi Addai Odike when he appeared on Kumasi-based Nhyira Fm.

While MyNewsGh.com listened to the discussion, the Founder and Leader of the United Front Party (UFP) chided the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako alias Chairman Wontumi for also wasting his time in dragging former President John Dramani Mahama before court challenging his comeback.

According to him, it is immaterial considering the state of Ghanaians who are faced with economic challenges observing that this year’s Christmas euphoria is down because there is no money in the pockets of Ghanaians.

“Chairman Wontumi will agree that two years of the current administration the ambitious projects are in line, the immediate needs of Ghanaians is to fix the economy. Preparations of Ghanaians towards Christmas is down because of the economy is bad”, he stated.

He advised the NPP chairman to redirect his efforts to helping the President fix the Ghanaian economy and making it resilient rather than pursue an agenda that will only help make former President Mahama more popular.

“The margin NPP beat the NDC with is so wide. If you begin to do some of these things you are making Mahama popular if after Mahama’s defeat in 2016 Wontumi feels something has changed and the popularity of the former President is soaring, I will beg him as the Regional Chairman, he should focus on things that will strengthen his party. NPP did not win the 2016 elections at its own strength it was won at the weakness of NDC. I am was part of the NPP’s 2016 victory because I aligned with them” he stated.
