NPP is least worried about newly elected NDC executives – Evans Nimako suggests

Director of research and elections of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Evans Nimako says the party is unfazed by the caliber of executives going to lead the opposition NDC into the 2020 general elections.

Speaking to the morning show host of sunrise on 3FM, Evans Nimako though commended the NDC for a successful election, he believed they could have don better.

For instance, Mr. Nimako said he would not have taken it lightly if he were Adu Asare who contended for deputy general secretary and had his picture on the ballot paper but name replaced.

“He had nurtured his ambition and had gone round to campaign only to be disappointed on the day of event, though he would not have won,” director of elections of the NPP stated.

“Election is not only talking on radio and television which Adu Asare is fond of; those who won seldom speaks on radio.”

According to him, he monitored all the candidates and knew “Adu Asare was not going to win and was not surprised about those candidates who won”.

Irrespective of whoever emerged victorious in the NDC’s congress, he said the NPP is not scared of the newly elected executives.

“The people of Ghana have seen NDC and seen that the NPP has a team that is able to work together to transform Ghana and not the NDC”.

“We are ready for 2020 and we know that even after 22 months, a lot is being done by Nana Addo and its government,” he claimed.

“The NPP is ready; the team that brought the NPP to government is still around. We would still be entertaining more ideas and views, be engaging lot people to ensure that 2020 Ghanaians will still have the confidence in the Nana Addo government and give us the mandate.”
