Unknown persons demolish Akosua Manu’s newly commissioned toilet facility

A group of unknown persons has demolished parts of a new toilet facility commissioned by the 2024 parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Adenta Constituency, Akosua Manu.

The demolition took place barely 24 hours after the facility was commissioned at Adjiriganor on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, the former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA) expressed disappointment over the destruction.

According to her, the project began in October 2024 and cost about GH₵70,000.

She stated that the demolition was carried out by individuals claiming to be officials from the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), who arrived in a branded pickup vehicle.

When asked whether she had a building permit, Akosua Manu, who could not confirm or deny, explained that community leaders told her they were the rightful owners of the land.

Additionally, she said the Assembly also claimed it had no control over the land, hence the project proceeded.

Condemning what she described as an act of impunity, she vowed to pursue all necessary legal and administrative channels to ensure the facility is restored and those responsible for the demolition are held accountable.
