Severe rainstorm causes huge traffic on Accra-Kumasi high way as tree blocks Osisno-Bunso stretch

A severe rainstorm led to a traffic congestion along the Osino-Bunso stretch of the Accra Kumasi highway, following the falling of large tree that blocked the section of the road.

The incident which occurred during a rainfall on April 20, 2025, brought vehicular movement to a near standstill, leaving commuters stranded.

A post shared on X by EDHUB indicated that the Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey who was en route to Koforidua at the time stopped at the scene to assess the situation

In a video that accompanied the post, the minister was captured speaking with a lot of people believed to be commuters.

Some men were also seen working tirelessly to get the tree off the road while some policemen were also seen directing traffic.
