President Mahama assigns National Security Ministry to Minister of Interior

President John Dramani Mahama has assigned the National Security Ministry to the Minister of the Interior, Mohammed-Muntaka Mubarak.

The contents of the letter from the President to Parliament were read by the Speaker during a sitting on Friday, March 7, 2025.

“Pursuant to Section 64 of the Securities and Intelligence Act, 2020 (Act 1030), I convey to the House that I have assigned ministerial responsibility for national security to the Minister of the Interior, Hon. Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak.

“Accordingly, the minister will oversee matters relating to national security in addition to his existing responsibilities, ensuring seamless coordination between the Interior Ministry and national security agencies.”
