PHOTOS: Robber overpowered and Killed by his victim at Akyeremade in the A/R
Luck eluded the suspected thief yet to be identified after he attempted knifing and robbing a young man on his way from Friday all night Church service at Akyeremade in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
Hon. Justice Baffour Awuah, the Assembly Member of Akyeremade-Kwanwoma Electoral Area who explained what happened to Filasconews.com this morning said, the suspected thief attacked his victim with a knife on his way from church this morning.
The incident happened on Saturday, November 12, 2022, around 12:30am at the abovementioned location.
According to the assembly member, the suspected thief tried using a handkerchief to cover the mouth of his victim but knifed him in the ribs after he failed the handkerchief attempt.
The man(victim) sensing danger struggled with his attacker and both fell into a ditch on the roadside.
The victim then overpowered the suspected thief in the ditch therefore, retaliated, and stabbed the suspected thief on the neck.
“The victim went to all night Church service on Friday night. And his wife who has returned from the market in that night called the husband to bring their keys home in order to get access to the room.
On his way coming home to deliver the keys to the wife, he was attacked by the suspect(now decease) at the point on the road called “Akyeremade Nsuomu).
There, the unfortunate incident happened and the suspected thief was rather overpowered and k!lled by the victim after he(suspected thief) stabbed the victim in the ribs”, Hon. Baffour Awuah added.
The victim is currently receiving at the Aburaso Methodist Hospital under Police protection.
The body of the decease has been conveyed by the Denkyembuoso Police to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
