Outraged fans go on a rampage at Baba Yara Stadium after Ghana’s loss to Angola

Some angry fans resorted to destroying properties and throwing missiles at the Baba Yara Stadium after the Black Stars suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat to Angola in their opening match of the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Angolans picked up their first three points in the AFCON qualifiers, ending Ghana’s 24-year unbeaten record at Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Milson won the game for the visitors with a last-minute goal, sending the home fans into despair.

Shortly after the goal, some fans, their hearts heavy with disappointment, walked out of the stadium due to the  Black Stars’ lacklustre performance.

However, the fans who stayed behind after the final whistle took matters into their own hands by throwing water bottles onto the pitch.

Some fans broke into the pitch and vandalised most advertising panels and other properties.

The military and the police later restored order after they stormed the pitch in their numbers to disperse the irate fans.
