One confirmed dead in Techiman from rabies

 

Techiman has experienced an outbreak of rabies leaving one person dead

The Techiman Health Directorate within the Bono East Region has pressed the alarm bell following a recent outbreak of rabies which has since left one person dead.

With the region now considered a hot spot for COVID-19, with six persons dead and readied to be buried by the Environmental Health Directorate from Covid-19, health officers are now to contend with rabies.

Dr. Kwabena Ofosuhene Kusi, the Municipal Health Director of Techiman who confirmed this said, the loss of life is a concern but his outfit is in touch with the Veterinary department to help with the vaccinations of dogs.

He made this known when he was speaking to the media on the sideline of the distribution of waste management waste bins by Zoomlion Medical Waste during the 2nd dose of AstraZeneca vaccinations.
