The suspect was arrested at the premises of the Karaga police station when he chased another person during the clash.

It is alleged that a locally manufactured pistol was retrieved from the suspect when he was arrested.

Six persons are said to be in critical condition due to the clash.

DGN Online gathered that confusion erupted between supporters of NPP and NDC at a rally in Sung. The supporters reportedly inflicted cutlass wounds on each other.

The victims were sent to the Karaga district hospital for treatment.

Both NPP and NDC in the district have accused each other for initiating the clash.

He indicated that some persons have been identified but they were at large adding that the police is making efforts to get an arrest warrant to pursue them.

Supt Ananga, however, revealed that police has beefed up security in the Karaga district to protect lives and property.
