The Cape Coast High Court has ruled in favour of Rev John Ntim Fordjour in a defamation lawsuit against Stephen Cobbah, alias Adepa, and Yaw Korankye, alias Ampong, awarding him GH¢700,000 in damages.

The court declared that statements published by the defendants on the Assinman Politics Gh WhatsApp platform on March 8 and 9, 2024, were defamatory.

The defendants were ordered to pay GH¢700,000 jointly and severally, along with GH¢20,000 each in legal costs.

Additionally, the court issued a perpetual injunction restraining the defendants from further publishing defamatory statements against Rev Ntim Fordjour.

They were also ordered to retract the statements with the same prominence as the original publications and to issue written apologies to the plaintiff, to be published on the Assinman Politics Gh WhatsApp platform and other social media platforms where the statements were circulated.
