Family of 3-year-old boy who died in LilWin’s car crash speaks

Victoria Nketiah, a relative of Tawiah Ampomah, the three-year-old who died in the car accident involving Kwadwo Nkansah, known as LilWin, has disclosed details about the tragic event that has caught the public’s attention.

Victoria, related to the driver whose vehicle collided with LilWin’s, resulting in the child’s death, stated that her in-law and his son were in the front seat when the accident happened. The boy sustained severe injuries and was declared deceased upon arrival at the hospital.

Currently, her in-law is in a critical condition and receiving treatment at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

“Tawiah Ampomah passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the hospital, and his father is in critical condition at KATH.

“My in-law’s family accompanied the police to view the boy’s body at the morgue,” Victoria explained during an interview with Angel FM.

She added that the police have not yet completed their investigation to amicably settle the matter.

Victoria also mentioned that LilWin’s management team has contacted the family to extend their support.

“The police haven’t updated us on their accident investigation. Our concern is that the child was overlooked when the incident happened, as everyone focused on LilWin. The media, too, has prioritized LilWin over addressing the child’s death and finding solutions.

“LilWin’s management visited the hospital to discuss supporting the family. We’ve asked them to wait until the police investigation concludes,” she said.

On May 25, 2024, news of LilWin’s involvement in a car accident shocked Ghanaians.

The collision occurred in front of Grace Baptist Church at Amakom in Kumasi. LilWin and two others were injured when their Benz collided head-on with another vehicle.

All injured parties, including LilWin, were taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Unit.

Eyewitnesses reported that LilWin, who sustained minor injuries, was undergoing medical treatment.

LilWin was heading to actress Matilda Asare’s mother’s funeral at the accident time.

Despite his injuries, LilWin attended the premiere of his new movie, “A Country Called Ghana,” at the KNUST CCB Auditorium later that day.

Police investigations continue to resolve the case and address the accident’s causes.
