The Assemblyman for the Nkwantakese Electoral Area in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region, Joseph Bonsu, has been killed by unknown assailants.

She reportedly found the Assemblyman seriously injured and sought assistance to get him to a health facility.
Joseph Bonsu was subsequently rushed to Maase Hospital in Offinso, where medical personnel reportedly pronounced him dead on arrival.

Following the incident, the body of the deceased was deposited at a morgue pending an autopsy.
