Nigeria set to join world’s top five economies by 2075

Nigeria is projected to become one of the world’s top five economies by 2075, according to Professor Godfred Bokpin, a leading economist and finance expert at the University of Ghana.

In an interview with GhanaWeb, Professor Bokpin highlighted Nigeria’s rapid economic growth, expanding financial sector, and strategic investments in infrastructure and technology as key factors driving this trajectory. He emphasized that continued development of human capital will be crucial to sustaining long-term growth.

Professor Bokpin also stressed the importance of regional integration and policy reforms to enhance Nigeria’s competitiveness on the global stage. He called on African nations to collaborate in addressing challenges such as trade barriers and economic disparities, ensuring inclusive growth across the continent.

According to the economist, Nigeria’s rise reflects broader trends positioning sub-Saharan Africa as a growing force in the global economy. With consistent implementation of strategic economic policies, the nation is on a path toward becoming a leading global economic power.
