NACOC, FDA uncover illegal cannabis-infused liqueur hub in Offinso

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) and the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) have uncovered an illegal cannabis-infused liqueur production hub hidden in a two-bedroom house located within a poultry farm at Ntiribuoho in the Offinso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

Acting on intelligence, a joint team comprising four NACOC officers and three FDA officials stormed the premises and seized large quantities of unapproved drinks and suspected narcotic substances.

One suspect was arrested during the raid, while others managed to escape and are currently on the run.

The illicit alcoholic beverage, popularly known as Famude or Kings Orange Flavoured Liqueur, was being produced without authorization, raising serious public health and safety concerns.

Authorities have assured the public of intensified nationwide operations to clamp down on the production and distribution of unlicensed and harmful substances.
