Music legend Femi Esho dies at 77

Chief Femi Esho, the chairman of Evergreen Musical Company is dead. The music icon died at the age of 77 after a brief illness.

The news of his demise was revealed by his daughter, Bunmi Esho in a post on her Facebook page on Monday, June 17. He would have been 78 years old in October.

Fondly known as Baba Esho or Baba Musician, he was a towering figure in the Nigerian music industry.

He is also the Founder of the Evergreen Music Heritage Foundation.

Until his death, Baba Esho was a mentor to many in the Highlife music scene and played a vital role in preserving and promoting various Nigerian music genres like Highlife, Juju, Sakara, Apala, Afrobeat, and more, Daily Post reports.

The burial arrangements will be announced by his family soon.
