Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa has reportedly been impeached.
Members of the Assembly removed Obasa as Speaker due to accusations of multiple constitutional and financial violations.
The lawmakers replaced Obasa with his deputy, Lasbat Meranda.
Meranda, who represents Apapa Constituency 1, was also a former chief whip of the House.
This news comes after reports that Obasa may have intentions to contest the Lagos State Governorship election in 2027 alongside President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.
