Madam Patricia Appiagyei, incumbent Member of Parliament for Asokwa last Friday shook the grounds of the famous municipality as she filed her nomination forms in grand style.

Storming the party office in a white car while standing in the open-top portion, the MP waved to numerous party delegates and sympathizers that followed her convoy from the Chirapatre Fire Service Station.

Wearing a white and blue dress that had her portrait engrained in same, the ever-smiling two-time MP brought traffic to a standstill till she arrived at the party office located at Ahensan Bonsuom, an area in the Asokwa community.

Accompanying her to the party office was Mr Asare Bediako, the famous and the longest-serving former NPP Chairman in Asokwa.

Presenting her CV that contained detailed information about her school and work life, Madam Appiagyei by this act made her intention clear to run for a third term as the party’s representative in the upcoming national polls in December.

With deafening shouts of “Sompahemaa” from party supporters that had thronged the arena, the MP added the stipulated fee for women aspirants to the Council of Elders Chairman who doubled as the elections committee chair.

Receiving the forms, Mr Abu Amosi said the MP had fulfilled all requirements as stated by the rules governing the process.

He promised to make the forms available to the vetting committee so as to allow the next process to begin after the 20th of February.

Addressing the media after filing her papers, Madam Appiagyei paid tribute to the NPP party and Asokwa delegates as well as residents for giving her the opportunity to serve for two terms.

She noted that there was more to be done for the communities within the constituency hence her decision to run for a third term as the party’s representative for Asokwa.

Madam Appiagyei asked delegates to endorse her decision when the time comes up on April 25.

She stressed that the Nana Addo government and MPs like herself needed four more years to do more for the people of Ghana as well as their respective constituencies.

“I am overjoyed seeing all these people including our former Chairman, Mr Asare Bediako and I know with this support shown me I would be given the opportunity to serve four more years and lead the Asokwa community as it charts its path to total development”, Madam Appiagyei stressed.
