Mahama jabs Bawumia for stammering at a media encounter

The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has criticised Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for some of his comments during a media encounter held on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

According to Mahama, Bawumia’s encounter was intended to divert attention from the NDC’s manifesto.

“The intention for doing that media encounter the next day after we had announced our manifesto was to divert the attention of Ghanaians from the NDC manifesto. That was the main reason they decided to do a media encounter the very next day after we launched our manifesto,” he said.

He also accused the flagbearer of the NPP of telling lying to Ghanaians, adding that he stammered whenever he faced difficult questions.

“When you do something with devious intentions, it backfires on you. You know how to tell if people are lying: if people who are smooth talkers, who can speak like machine guns, suddenly become stammerers, you know they are lying. Somebody who has been speaking ‘ratatatata’ like an AK-47 suddenly, at a media encounter, starts stammering,” he said during day one of his two-day tour of Ada as part of his Greater Accra Regional Campaign on Tuesday, August 27.
