LilWin Fires Back at Prophet Opambour Over Comments Mocking Boxer Joseph Sackey’s Defeat

Kumawood actor LilWin has sharply criticized Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, popularly known as Opambour, following the preacher’s recent comments mocking Ghanaian boxer Joseph Sackey after his defeat.

On June 14, 2025, Joseph Sackey participated in a boxing match at the Bukom Boxing Arena. The boxer, who notably wore blue shorts adorned with an image and sticker of popular preacher Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, suffered a fifth-round defeat to his opponent, Abdul Khan. The match quickly went viral on social media, with many netizens commenting on the apparent irony of Sackey’s loss despite the symbolic spiritual backing.

Joining the widespread discussion, Opambour publicly mocked both Sackey and Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah. Opambour claimed that if the boxer had sought his counsel before the bout, he would have accurately predicted the outcome.

“When it comes to pastors truly anointed in this country, my name must be mentioned. If the boxer had come to me, I would’ve told him whether he would win or lose. When Bukom Banku wanted to fight, he consulted me, and he won,” Opambour asserted.

However, LilWin, clearly irritated by Opambour’s statements, accused the prophet and his associates of envy and hypocrisy. Fiercely defending Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah and the boxer, LilWin stated, “Before you criticise the boxer, check his track record. Joseph Sackey has won several matches. You’re laughing at him because of one defeat? Shame on you! Even legends like Anthony Joshua and Mike Tyson have been beaten before. Your comments are driven by jealousy.”

LilWin did not mince words, further describing Opambour and his fellow pastors as “shallow thinkers.” He added, “You pastors don’t think. Do you believe mocking Sackey will bring down Adom Kyei Duah? You’re wrong. That will never happen. No wonder your church members are leaving.”
