Pregnant woman, 2 others missing after boat accident on Oti River

A pregnant woman and two others remain unaccounted for following a tragic boat accident on the Oti River in Dambai, located in the Krachi East Municipality.

The accident occurred on Tuesday evening when a boat, carrying 10 passengers from the Dambai market, attempted to cross the river to Ingyari, a fishing community.

Seven of the passengers have been rescued through a collaborative effort between the local assembly and navy operatives in the area.

These survivors have been taken to the Dambai Health Centre for medical attention. Tragically, a four-year-old girl was pronounced dead.

Rescue efforts are currently underway to locate the missing individuals; however, rough river conditions are complicating the search.
