How BBC’s Gary Lineker reacted to Fatawu Issahaku’s impressive display for Leicester City

Legendary English player, Gary Lineker, has questioned why Ghanaian attacker Fatawu Issahaku does not start games for Leicester City in the English Premier League.

According to him, he and his family have been staunch supporters of the Foxes, and that anytime they realize Issahaku does not appear in the starting line-up, they fret due to his potential.

The host of Match of the Day (MOTD) on the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) hailed Issahaku’s brilliant performance that helped Leicester beat Southampton by three goals to two and called on the Foxes coach to start the player in games.

“I don’t know who picks the running order, but this was not on first today. I will never know. The game really changed when Fatawu came on. As a Leicester City fan, my kids all follow Leicester as well.

“Every time we see the team sheet and he is not in, we go, ‘Oh no, not again. Why is he not playing?’ This kid is special,” Lineker said during MOTD aired on October 20, 2024.

Issahaku provided an assist and was the player with the most touches, with 7, despite playing only 31 minutes in the game.
