The Global Peace Inter Generational Dialogue was duly launched on Monday 6th May 2019. The event which took place at the Kempinski Hotel saw various dignitaries across Africa and beyond grace the occasion to ensure that the preaching of peace is not just a rhetoric but an action aid agenda.

Addressing the gathering, the President of the Republic of Ghana His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo stated that he and his cabinet are working tirelessly to ensure that the Ghanaian youth is globally competitive in all dimensions. He stated that “All is set for the construction of 21 state-of-the-art Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Centres this year in the various regions of the country. The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) centers are also being built around the country to provide support for the introduction of STEM into basic education, after the completion of a successful pilot phase.”

This comes as an encouragement for the youth who are plying their way through to the top to acquire practicable knowledge and apply in their daily activities. He also emphasized that digital technology by the youth must be a compelling challenge if, indeed, they are to survive in this competitive, technological environment.

“They have to survive. Technology is what helps us to make the world truly a global village, and enables once poor people to become prosperous, and scale up the value of their economic activities.”

Present at the event were: H.E. Justice Aboagye-Sarpong, President of the Union, Amanda Koranteng, Press and information Secretary, Samir Ousman Programs and Projects Cordinator and Kingsley Prekese, Treasurer.

The Union which ensures the well being and channels grievances of members to the government expressed their gratitude for this initiative. Also in attendance were Students from University of Professional studies & African University College of Communication led by their SRC presidents Terrick Nii Obodai(UPSA), Theodore Godza(UPSA),  Samuel Daffour (AUCC) were all attendees of the event and shared their thought.

Held & duly launched at Kempinski, the Intergenerational dialogue is the first of one hundred intergenerational dialogues to be held in one hundred cities across the world, to establish a platform for the youth to interact with leaders, to reach a consensus on the  best approach towards developing our respective countries, to bring the views of the youth to bear on developmental issues, and to help create a better and prosperous future for us all.
