JUST IN: Krachi West DCE Forced Out Of Office

The District Chief Executive for Krachi West Mr Douglas Osei-Nti has been forcibly removed from office by some aggrieved members of his District, Mynewsghana.com can confirm.

The protestors have petitioned the president to as soon as possible remove the current DCE citing reasons like poor communication with members of the District, Corruption, Misconducts etc.

Leader of the protestors in an exclusive interview with Mynewsghana.com‘s Volta North Correspondent Kennedy Amankwah revealed that the New Patriotic Party member in the District had high hopes based on his experience as a party secretary, three times candidate and many more positions he has held in the Party.

“There are lots of misconducts on the side of the DCE some of which cannot be discussed on National Medium”.

“We have leap programmes. This very year, the registration is supposed to cover about 30 communities, out of the 30 communities, not everyone was registered so they came back later to register those who could not partake in the first session. It would surprise you that this DCE refused to grant the permission for the second batch registration to be done.

There are some Assembly members who had to convey their members to another District to be registered under the LEAP programme.

He owns a landing beach here in the town which obviously shouldn’t be so. There are a lot of issues at the lakeside and the lakeside market which he is not even bothered about. He said. ”

The group also accused of DCE’s office of embezzling some funds meant for the registration of members of the District members unto the National Health Insurance. The group revealed that the Government allocated over 4000 free registrations which were kept under the carpets while the poor and the old had to queue up with their own monies to pay for the registration. This year is no exception as the group further disclosed that some 16,000 free registrations meant for two districts has also not seen the light of day.

Other members of the group who spoke to Mynewsghana.net revealed that the DCE has turned his back on the same group that helped him climb to his seat and have gone the extra mile to sabotage the party.

In a press release copied to Mynewsghana.com, the group wants the President of the Republic to remove Mr Douglas Osei-Nti from office as the DCE for Krachi West District.

The DCE has currently been escorted to the Police Station for safety until the matter is been resolved. Mynewsghana.com is keenly following the story and would update this post as soon as the need arises.
