Gospel musician Grace Ashly joins A Plus, LilWin in race to enter parliament?

Posters of an independent parliamentary bid of a major player in the gospel music industry has been circulated according to photos sighted by GhanaWeb.

Madam Grace Ashly, known for her public support for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is being rumoured to be seeking to enter Parliament as lawmaker for the Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

Bright posters with her face have been posted at strategic areas in the constituency which currently has the NPP’s Dickson Adomako-Kissi as outgoing MP.

The poster bears her name in bold font with a tagline that reads: “opportunities for all.” The local lantern, her emblem, is sighted at the top left side of the poster with dominant orange colour.

Ashly’s last known political affiliation was when she disclosed being a member of the Movement For Change of former NPP minister, Alan Kyerematen.

If her interest is confirmed, she will be joining two other showbiz industry players aiming to enter Parliament as independent candidates.

Kwame Asare Obeng, alias, A Plus is running for the Gomoa East seat in the Central Region while Kwadwo Nkansah, alias LilWin is also eyeing the Afigya Kwabre South seat in the Ashanti Region.

GhanaWeb’s attempts to reach Ashly proved unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
