The development of Ghana Sports must be devoid of partisan politics before it can be improved in all disciplines since it needs a collective effort and full participation of all stakeholders to succeed.
This is because sports is a large profession with many disciplines which takes time and a lot of resources for one to identify and develop his talented area in a larger society like ours where sporting youth face high competition to excel.
This statement came from the office of Mr Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, Board Chairman of the Ghana National Sports Authority (NSA) through his representative at Ananekrom near Agogo in the Asante–Akim North District when an Eid–Ul– Fitr Salla Football Competitions was organized for the communities within the Agogo Afram Plains area in the district.
The Former Member of Parliament (MP) for the area called on all Ghanaians especially, politicians to eschew all differences and biasis that could mar the development of sports but support it at all corners across the country and therefore, supported the program with two sets of jerseys and two footballs valued at about two thousand cedis
It was organized by Mr Peter Abaje the Assemblyman for Ananekrom Electoral Area which was aimed at promoting unity and peace in the area during which Agogo Zongo A and B football clubs, Bebuso United, Nhyiaeso F/C, Omanhene, Brighten , Betoomu, Zongo A and Zongo B, clubs from Ananekrom, Afirisere Stars, Oseikrom Stars, Aberewapong F/C, Nsonyameye F/C (champions), Sankwan Stars and Youngsters from Serebuoso as well as Koowireso F/C teams competed for one trophy.
Nsonyameye F/C, championed and took home the trophy, one football, a set of jerseys and an envelope followed by Aberewapong F/C with a football, a set of jerseys and an envelope whilst Ananekrom Zongo A” placed third to get one football and an envelope.
Mr. Peter Abaje commended all for attending the program especially, the chiefs pledged to organise a bigger one and increase the prizes in December this year.
