The Ghana Premier League has produced several remarkable individual and team achievements since the country’s top-flight competition began, with some records proving extremely difficult for future generations to surpass.

One of the most remarkable records belongs to Hearts of Oak, who went 44 Ghana Premier League matches unbeaten between 2002 and 2004. The impressive sequence remains one of the most difficult marks for a club to match.

Asante Kotoko legend Opoku Nti scored three goals in just six minutes against Hearts of Oak in a famous Super Clash in August 1983. Despite the remarkable hat-trick, Kotoko eventually lost the match 4-3.
Another long-standing mark concerns the fastest goal. Diawisie Taylor scored after only 14 seconds for Karela United against Ebusua Dwarfs in April 2018, establishing one of the quickest goals in Ghana Premier League history.
The league has continued to produce new records in recent seasons. During the 2025/26 campaign, Hearts of Oak established a new defensive benchmark by keeping 24 clean sheets in 34 matches, according to statistics published by the Ghana Football Association.
That season also produced an extraordinary individual performance when Samuel Attah Kumi scored six goals in a single match for Bibiani Gold Stars in an 8-3 victory over Eleven Wonders.
At the club level, Asante Kotoko remain the most successful team in Ghana’s top-flight history, with 25 league titles, while Hearts of Oak have won 21.
These records demonstrate the extraordinary standards reached by some of Ghana’s greatest clubs and players. While football continues to evolve and new stars emerge, surpassing achievements accumulated over decades will require exceptional performances.
