The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has declared that Ghana needs an upgrade instead of a reset as proposed by the opposition National Democratic Congress.

The vice president, during his interaction with the media on Sunday, August 25, 2024, proposed his 14 key commitments which he believes will advance the course of Ghanaians.

Dr. Bawumia in his submission said, “I represent the future and Ghana needs an upgrade and not a reset.”

“I have also outlined my 14 key commitments to the Ghanaian people. These are to expand and sustain Ghana’s rebounding economy, create new jobs, implement a wide range of tax reforms, build Ghana into a world-class economy, reduce the cost of living, expand infrastructure, provide better health care for all, implement affirmative action for women and girls, and expand education opportunities for all.

“Provide good governance, care for the elderly, protect our environment, and boost sports, creative arts, and tourism. Protect our borders while keeping our neighborhoods safe,” he stated.

Dr. Bawumia’s statement was in response to John Mahama’s campaign message that the country needs a reset.

Speaking at the NDC’s 2024 Manifesto launch, Mahama said, “Tomorrow we take the first step towards resetting our dear nation Ghana. We face challenges that have held us back for too long, but now it’s time to build the Ghana we all want together. Join me from Winneba in the Central region as I unveil a vision for our future that will bring justice, jobs, and prosperity to every corner of our beloved nation, Ghana. Tomorrow, we begin the journey together.”
