Galamseyer who threatened to kill, rob Akufo-Addo’s daughter in a highway operation apologises

A self-proclaimed galamseyer who went viral after threatening to rob President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, his daughter and others on the highway has apologised for his comments.

In his initial video, the man claimed that the president’s efforts to stop galamsey (illegal mining) were misguided.

He warned that if the president continued with his crackdown on galamsey, he would turn to robbing people on the highway, specifically targeting the president’s daughter.

“Those trying to stop galamsey, now I’ve brought all my equipment home, and I don’t even know what to do with it,” he said.

“Now, I’m going to rob people and kill them one by one on the highway, Nana, if you want to stop galamsey, I will come and rob your daughter.”

However, in a follow-up video, he has apologised for his remarks, claiming he did not mean any harm in his earlier statements.

“I plead in the name of God. I made a video, and now that the video is trending, I beg you in the name of God to please forgive me. Take it as if I am just a foolish child, and forgive me.”
