France recalls ambassador to Burkina Faso

Barely a day after France agreed to withdraw all troops from Burkina Faso, the French ambassador, Luc Hallade to Burkina Faso has been recalled.

According to BBC.com reports, the French foreign ministry said Luc Hallade’s return is based on consultations on the state of relations between Paris and its former West African colony.

The presence of France troops has been a major concern for the last two weeks.

There have been a protest against the French presence in Burkina Faso, whose military rulers have been seeking military assistance from Russia to help defeat an Islamist insurgency.
