KP Boateng loses up to $450k possessions to Barcelona home theft

While enduring a nightmare LaLiga debut for Barcelona Saturday night, thieves broke in through the window of Kevin-Prince Boateng’s Sarria home, stealing cash, watches and jewels.

The on-loan former Ghana striker was handed a first start in the Catalans’ 1-0 victory over Real Valladolid, only to return home after a debut to forget to find his house had been robbed earlier that day.

Boating acquired a home in the Sarria district, to the north of Barcelona city centre after his loan move from Italian side Sassuolo in January.

Per reports, up to $450,000 worth of Boateng’s possessions, including jewelry, watches and cash, were taken during the home raid by the thieves.

It is not the first time a Barcelona star has been targeted by burglars during games.

Earlier this season defender Jordi Alba was burgled in similar circumstances during Barcelona’s away trip to Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League last November. Alba’s wife and child were at home during the incident. The house is in a similar zone to Boateng’s and the thieves also came in through the window and forced open the safe.
