Election 2024: EC presents final voters’ register to Political Parties

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has formally presented the final voters’ register for the 2024 election to political parties.

The register contains the names of eligible voters for the December 7 election.

The EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa, made the presentation in a meeting with party representatives on Wednesday, November 6.

Addressing the media, she said that the presentation fulfilled a promise made during the last IPAC meeting when a soft copy was made available.

She noted that after the template was issued, no political party sent any complaints or comments.

“At the meeting of IPAC on October 15, we indicated that this presentation would be made to you by the end of the first week of November. However, with the help of God, we have been able to do that two days before the 8th, which signifies the end of the first week of November.

“Following the exhibition of the revised PVR, the commission received a total of 158 issues from voters across the country,” she said.

She emphasized the register’s critical role in promoting a transparent and credible electoral process.

“I am pleased to note that all the issues have been resolved, and as we speak, we have no further issues regarding the final voters’ register. I am pleased to note that we now have a robust and credible final certified voters’ register, which is fit to deliver a credible, transparent, fair, peaceful, and glorious election on December 7, 2024,” she said.
