Drone Footage Reveals Catastrophic Flooding in Texas Town as Death Toll Rises to 51

Georgetown, Texas – Harrowing drone footage has captured the devastating aftermath of flash floods that swept through parts of central Texas, as at least 51 people, including 15 children, have been confirmed dead.
The aerial images show widespread destruction in Georgetown, where the San Gabriel River overflowed its banks, inundating homes and businesses and sweeping away vehicles. Entire neighborhoods appear partially submerged, with rooftops barely visible above the muddy floodwaters.
Emergency crews are engaged in a massive search and rescue operation, with special attention focused on Camp Mystic, a Christian all-girls’ youth camp situated along the Guadalupe River. Authorities say 27 girls are still missing, and efforts to locate them are ongoing.
“The work continues, and will continue, until everyone is found,” said Larry Leitha, Sheriff of Kerr County, the area hardest hit by the flooding.
Local, state, and federal resources have been mobilized as rescuers battle dangerous conditions, including fast-moving waters, collapsed infrastructure, and limited access to remote areas. The flooding was triggered by unprecedented overnight rainfall, which caused multiple rivers across the region to breach their banks.
Officials are urging residents to stay away from affected areas and follow evacuation orders, warning that more rain is expected in the coming days.
This is one of the deadliest natural disasters in Texas in recent years, and officials have not ruled out the possibility of the death toll rising as rescue and recovery efforts continue.
