Dr Akufo Addo Must Be Applauded For Recalling The 14 Dismissed Wassce Students – . Agyenim-Boateng

The firebrand communications team member of the ruling party, New Patriotic Party( NPP), in the central region,  Dr. Nana Yaw Agyenim-Boateng has commended President Akuffo-addo for his complete sympathy with the unfortunate indiscipline incident outpoured by some high school students in the ongoing WASSCE.

According to Dr. Agyenim-Boateng this directive from the first gentleman of the land to have amnestied the insolent and contemptuous behaviour of these students, is exemplary and highly dignified.

He said, many were amazed by the audacity with which they pelted Nana Addo with insults and curses for their inability to solve some ‘difficult’ questions. They forgot that duties and responsibilities of a president have no correlation with how tough or easy an exam would be. The students should have known better and prepared so well than narrowing their expectations on only past questions (which were also shared freely to them by the GES). These students are already enjoying ‘free, accessible and quality education’ which many grownups were never privileged to have.

Dr. Agyenim-Boateng said the country is already investing lump sums of resources into their educational upbringing. The onus lies on them to also learn hard and excel in this endeavor. In the end, we have high hopes that they should make their parents, families, alma maters, themselves and the nation proud by passing out successfully.

It is well expected that some students will go wayward. Helen Keller once said, “The highest result of education is tolerance”. It is therefore not surprising that the president has given them a second chance to make amends and come out with flying colours. Theodore Roosevelt also posits that, “To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society”. It’s imperative that teachers and school authorities instill morality in students as they impact knowledge onto them. Knowledge and morality are intertwined.

An interesting except written at the entrance of one University in South Africa reads:

_Destroying any nation does not require the use of atomic bombs or the use of long range missiles…it only requires lowering the quality of education and allowing cheating in the examinations by the students. Patients die at the hands of such doctors…Buildings collapse at the hands of such engineers…Money is lost at the hands of such economists and accountants…Justice is lost at the hands of such judges…”_

Dr. Agyenim-Boateng also said the president deserves utmost applause for recalling the students to continue with their exams and for improving the quality and standards of education. We must all rally behind the President Akufo Addo passion and vision for our children. And also help with correcting the wrongs and indiscipline in our youth, he added.

May God bless our homeland (Ghana) and make it great and strong.

From the corridors of Assin South.

Signed

Nana Yaw Agyenim-Boateng, PhD.
