Dapper Music releases statement amid Shallipopi’s departure from label

The unexpected exits of rappers Crown Uzama better known as Shallipopi, and Moshood Abdulmuiz, often known as Muyeez, from Dapper Music, have prompted a statement from Damilola Akinwunmi, the label’s CEO and Hilda Baci’s partner.

Many were shocked by the news since they were not aware of the concerns brought up by the artists. Both musicians discussed issues like a lack of openness, trust issues, and feeling taken advantage of in their social media posts.

While not specifically addressing these issues, Dapper Music’s recent social media letter sought to reassure the public and their surviving musicians.

Their statement says, “At Dapper Music and Entertainment, we always embrace growth as a vital part of success for individuals, talents, and partners. The music industry thrives on constant evolution, and we believe adapting to growth is essential for all. Amid these transitions, our dedication to the principles that have shaped us since day one remains steadfast.

For over a decade, Dapper Group has been committed to empowering artists, fostering collaboration, and championing talents from all walks of life, giving them platforms to grow. These values continue to inspire us as we nurture fresh talent, support our artists, and strengthen our partnerships.”
