The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has described the Supreme Court ruling against embattled businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome as a victory for the party.
According to him, the NPP promised to retrieve the money and so the ruling is a plus for the party.
“National Democratic Congress didn’t want us to talk about the Woyome issue. This matter is close to our heart . . . I believe it’s a plus for us… it is a promise we made that has been fulfilled. I believe it is a victory for us,” he stated during a panel discussion on Peace FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.
The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights has also dismissed the case filed by the businessman against the State.
The court said Mr Woyome’s right to non-discrimination, right to equality before the law, equal protection before the law and his right to be heard by an impartial tribunal had all not been violated.
