Coronavirus: President Ramaphosa Considers Another 21-Days Lockdown

The Founder of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema has alleged that South Africa President, Cyril Ramaphosa and his Cabinet are considering another 21- day’s lockdown.

According to the outspoken opposition party Leader, the South Africa President only considers lockdown as a solution to the coronavirus pandemic and ignores vaccines to vaccinate the people, situation he says is unacceptable.

South Africa has reported 9 160 new COVID-19 cases, said the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD).

This as there were 36 858 COVID-19 tests conducted on Monday. This translated to a 24.9% positivity rate, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1 832 479.

Of the latest infections, the majority were found in Gauteng (6 292), followed by the Western Cape (647).

Speaking on this development on Newsroom Afrika monitored by thepressradio.com on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, Julius Malema stated that Ramaphosa and his cabinet are seeking for their parochial interest that is why he wants to take the country into another 21- days lockdown.

“As am speaking President Ramaphosa considering another 21 days lockdown but it is not aim at stopping the rising coronavirus cases but he is doing that for his own interest. We won’t listen to what Ramaphosa says about the coronavirus. We don’t comply with nonsense until he gives us vaccines and vaccinates our people, because he has no intention of vaccinating our people,” Malema alledged.
