Charly Boy older than President Bola Tinubu? Nigerians react

There have been massive reactions as entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has been discovered to be older than President Bola Tinubu.

In a post shared on Instagram by blogger Tunde Ednut, Charly Boy is said to be 74 years old, born on June 19, 1950, while Tinubu is reported to be 72 years old, born on March 29, 1952.

This sparked widespread reactions from Nigerians who disputed the recent discovery. Many claimed that Tinubu would be much older, as his looks were evidence enough.

Others also stated that Tinubu’s speculated age may not be his real age, as there have been concerns raised in that regard on multiple occasions.

In a video making rounds, Charly Boy addressed the baggage many people carry in an attempt to live a fake life.

He said, “My people listen very carefully. Life is not permanent at all. It is a journey. From the moment our feet touch the ground and we start to walk, we become a traveler untill we reach our final destination, which is six feet under. We are born to die.

“The lighter your luggage, the smoother your journey. All this trouble about what people say is a heavy luggage. Living a fake life just to impress is extra load. In travelling light, there are so many things we should leave behind.

Below are some reactions from Nigerians on social media regarding Tinubu’s age.
