Rescue NPP from defeat in 2024 general elections – Dr Amoako Baah to new national executives

A member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Richard Amoako Baah, has asked the newly elected national executives to rescue the party from defeat in 2024 general elections.

He noted that the abysmal performance by the party through its leadership in the past years is a clear indication that party will lose elections if it is held now.

The NPP elected new national executives last Saturday, with Stephen Ayensu Ntim and Justin Frimpong Kodua, winning the National Chairman and the General Secretary positions respectfully.

In an interview with the host of Otec FM’s morning program, ‘Nyansapo’, Captain Koda, on Monday, July 18, 2022, Dr Amoako Baah said the governing party has failed to fulfill most of its campaign promises, a situation that has brought hardship to the people.

“If elections are held now, the NPP will lose the political power because of its failure to accept the blame for the current economic challenges in the country, rather than attributing it to COVID-19 and Russian-Ukrainian war,” he added.

He noted that some party members are aggrieved due to the party failed promises by the NPP “and the only solution to win their trust back is for the national executives to humbly appeal to them and tell them situational truth.”

“What they need to do first is to unite the members if the party wants to maintain the political power. The party has a lot of factions within, and if not addressed, the party will break itself, he stated.

“The newly national executives must also explain to the public the real current problems confronting the country, rather than giving excuses,” the political scientist added.
