Boy, 8, killed by speeding taxi at Kwasi Nyarko

An eight-year-old boy by the name Isaac Adom has been knocked and killed instantly by a Toyota Corolla with registration number GG 2183-21, which was heading towards Asamankese from Nsawam.

The deceased, who hails and stays with the grandmother at Kwasi Nyarko in the Upper West Akim District of the Eastern Region, was crossing the road to the other side to collect soup for his evening meal with a younger brother when the fatal incident occurred.

Madam Adissah, the grandmother of the deceased, said the driver who knocked the boy intended booting away but was caught up by Okada boys in the area.

She added that it is strange her grandson died from an accident same as his deceased mother in a motor crash about three years ago.

Family and relations of the deceased were at the Adeiso Police Station to seek justice.

The Nsawam-Asamankese road in recent years has witnessed a number of accidents, and this according to a unit committee member at Kwasi Nyarko, needs to be critically examined.

Body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Nsawam mortuary, pending autopsy.
