Black Sherif Pelted with Water by Fans Over Late Performance in Takoradi

Ghanaian music sensation Black Sherif is at the center of an online storm after a video went viral showing him being pelted with water by disgruntled fans during a performance at the Takoradi Mall Event Center on June 21, 2025.

The “Soma Obi” hitmaker was scheduled to begin his performance at 7 PM but reportedly only took to the stage at a staggering 5 AM the following morning. The prolonged wait evidently agitated the audience, who, in the viral footage, began throwing bottles of water at the performing artist.

In response to being drenched, Black Sherif was heard urging the fans to direct their frustration not only at him but also at the event promoters. “Throw more, throw more… As you are throwing the bottles at me, do the same to the promoters. Throw more water,” he called out to the crowd.

Sources indicate that while Black Sherif arrived at the venue on time at 7 PM, he was only called to perform hours later. Other videos from the event further corroborate widespread disappointment among patrons regarding the extensive delay.

This incident has ignited a flurry of mixed reactions across social media platforms. Some netizens have criticized Black Sherif for his late appearance on stage, holding him accountable for the audience’s frustration. Conversely, a significant portion of online commentators have condemned the audience’s behavior, labeling it as disrespectful and unwarranted, regardless of the performance delay. The incident highlights ongoing issues with event management and artist scheduling in the Ghanaian entertainment landscape.
