Bayern coy on Osimhen move

Osimhen, 24, has been heavily linked with a move to the Bundesliga title holders in the summer in recent weeks.

The Bavarians are yet to find a suitable replacement for Robert Lewandowski who left the club for FC Barcelona last summer.

Cameroonian international Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has been deployed as a false nine, but the results have been below par.

The club is said to be in search of a potent striker who will fill the void left by the Polish captain in the long term and Osimhen’s name has come up for discussion.

When asked about the possibility of signing Osimhen aftermath of their UCL elimination to Manchester City, Hasan Salihamidzic said:

“I will not discuss names now. However, we will see what the coach has in mind, who is involved, what are the financial implications, then we can see the possibilities,” Salihamidzic said when quizzed about the possibility of signing Osimhen.

The Super Eagles striker has been in remarkable form this season. The ex-Lille striker has netted 26 goals in 31 matches across all competitions.

Osimhen is also being courted by top Premier League clubs, including Manchester and Chelsea.
