You Are Not Our Standard; Don’t Compare Yourself To Us – John Boadu To NDC
The Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is not the standard of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in terms of economic management and competence. The General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu has said.
According to him, the NPP two years in Office economic indicators are far better than the eight (8) years of the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration adding that the NPP inherited economic crises but the pragmatic measures and policies put in place by the Nana Addo led NPP government the economy is on the right direction to set the country on international standard.
“They are not our standard, if the NDC is the standard of NPP we will not prepare budget for two year to achieve what they achieved in their 8 years in office” John Boadu said on Accra based Okay fm monitored by thepressradio.com on Tuesday, November 20, 2018.
Recounting some of the achievements undertaken by the government, John Boadu indicated that the implementation of the Planting for food and jobs has revived the collapsed agriculture sector by the NDC government which has created more jobs for Ghanaians.
According to him, maize, cassava, plantain and rice production have increased significantly in the country since President Akufo-Addo assumed office, adding that the railway system is also experiencing massive improvement.
Touching on free SHS, he said, “Without free education, the future of children of school going age in Ghana would be at risk; but we have a president in Nana Addo who has introduced free SHS to make the future of our children brighter again within two years. John Mahama couldn’t do this when he was president”.
The strength of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), according to John Boadu, has also been revived under the Akufo-Addo led government. The scheme, he added was being strangled by debt under former president Mahama but the NPP government has managed to clear almost all the debt.
