Barcelona secures five year contract with Nico Williams

Barcelona are pushing hard to finalise the signing of Nico Williams, their top target for the summer transfer window. Negotiations with the 22-year-old’s agent have been ongoing over the last week or two, and it now appears that final details have been sorted.

According to El Chiringuito, a total agreement between Barcelona and Williams’ agent has been reached. A five-year contract has been offered, and all that remains is for the Athletic Club winger to give his approval to a deal taking place.

Williams has been enjoying some well-deserved time off following the conclusion of Euro 2024, and his agent has been handling his future. Despite strong interest from the Premier League, it appears that Barcelona would be his next destination if he does decide to move away from Athletic.

Once Williams gives his approval to Barcelona, they will proceed to pay his €58m release clause, and thus securing one of the signings of the summer in the process. However, there is still a way to go before everything is completed.
