Eight years after losing his son and two other dependants in an accident, Mr Christian Donkor still struggles with the pain brought by his memory.

But even more painful, according to Mr Donkor, is the reminder incessant road crashes as the Kintampo accident brings to him and the state’s impotency in prosecuting culprits of such accidents.

Mr Donkor’s son, Francis Pious Donkoh was killed together with three others by a speeding articulated truck as they waited in the median of the dual-carriage road at Kwesimintsim, Takoradi in 2011.

Francis who was then a student of Agyiba International School together with the others were waiting to cross the road when all of a sudden, the articulated truck with registration number, VR 1749-09 which was being driven by a driver’s mate run over him.

His sister, Anna-Maria Donkoh who was fortunate to survive the accident still struggles to walk as the truck run over her legs.

The distraught father, on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Tuesday said the family was still devastated by their lose.

“We loved our son so much that even after eight years of his unfortunate demise; everything in his room is still intact. We pray for his soul every day” he narrated.

Mr Donkor has expressed shock at the conduct of the police prosecutor handling the case.

“After eight years, I’m yet to get justice for my son. The driver who killed him is walking free,” he fumed.

He was however happy that he has been able to lead a campaign for speed ramp on the stretch of the road to avoid any further accident.
